New things

This delicious creature seen above is our new wool rug for the den. It just arrived today. We got it on sale from Target and took a risk by buying it online. I looooove it. We need to figure out a way to keep it from being barfed on because. Back before we moved G had traded me a ton of Target gift cards for cash and they were burning a hole in my pocket. 

Then there's this couch! I got it for $100 on Craigslist. <3 <3 <3 It is in great shape and it has velvet piping. It is super comfy After much wailing and gnashing of teeth we finally got a buyer on Craigslist to actually come and pick up our green sectional. I sold it for $225. I bought it for $250 over five years ago. (I still feel like everyone got a deal in that transaction.)

PS I MADE THOSE PILLOWS. PUT A BIRD ON IT.

Then there's this beauty. God bless America. Am I right or am I right? When we paint the walls white in the den that rocking chair is going to be fabulous. It's so comfortable too! I went to My Secret Closet last Friday to check out their couches and bought three skirts and some linen curtains for $7.50. After I checked out I passed this little gem and I swear it was not there when I came in. After a brief moment of indecision I snatched off the tag and got back in line. While I was daintily hauling it out of the store two women complimented me on my fine taste in consigned chairs. And then while I was delicately cramming it into the back of my Honda Civic a third woman drove by slowly and hollered, "Cute chair!" out of her window.

I can not wait to paint this room and set it up the way I want it. All of us hang out in here all the time and having the kitchen mess spilling into it is really cramping my style.
